The past Chinese driver(跳水运动员) Guo Jingjing appeared at the Paris Olympics this summer, but this time, she was there in the new role — as the chief referee.
Born in 1981, Guo Jingjing started studying at the age of 7. She practiced hard and quickly became very good at it. In 1993, she joined China’s national diving team. As we all know, AI humans now can be like real people. They can do real people’s voices and moves and even copy(模仿) their personalities(性格). But what else can they do And what can only be done by humans but not AI
AI humans today appear in many ways. They can be idols(偶像), vloggers, reporters and more. For example, China Daily(中国日报) has its own AI reporter, Yuanxi. She can speak English and cover the wonderful world of Chinese culture. She can process data(处理数据) fast. This can help the newsroom work faster.
In February 2022, Chinese tech company(科技公司) Baidu showed its first AI idol Xi Jiajia. She can change her makeup and can even do livestreams(直播)! During China Fashion Week in September 2022, Xi Jiajia became famous in an online virtual(虚拟的) fashion show.
“Virtual idols could do something that people cannot do in the real world, such as time travel,” said Liu Qian from Baidu. Liu took the AI guide as an example. They can appear to be in different places and from different times in history.
But AI humans have their disadvantages. Take Yuanxi as an example, she still doesn’t have much human touch and EQ(情商). These are something that only a real human can have. What’s more, virtual people can’t team up and communicate(交流) with others in real time.
