As an old saying goes, "Eyes are the windows of our mind." In other words, eyes are very important to us. However, it seems many people are not paying enough attention to protecting their eyes.
These days, many people lead a busy life. They have little time to take care of their "windows". Even when the eyes have something wrong, telling their owners that they are dry and tired, they may just not care about them, and continue their work. Students, too, spend a large amount of time on their school projects. They hardly take the time to protect their eyes.
We all know that eyes work like a camera. When we use a camera to take pictures, we adjust (调节) the focus (焦距) to make our photos become clear. In our eyes, there are also "lenses (晶体)". These lenses gather light in the retina (视网膜), making us see the world clearly. However, these lenses can't collect light on their own; they need the help of the ciliary muscles (睫状肌). The ciliary muscles control the lenses' shape by either pressing them or relaxing them.
When we pay attention to our work for too long, the ciliary muscles will feel tired. As a result, they won't be able to help the lenses gather light properly and we won't be able to see things clearly. In the long term, we will likely get different eye illnesses, such as myopia (近视).
Protect your eyes now. Give them enough rest, won't you
