Day 1 The Arrival in Beijing
Your guide will meet you at the arrival hall. An experienced driver will transfer you to your hotel. Your guide will help you to check in.
You may start your first day wandering through Tian'anmen Square and then arrive at the Forbidden City to have a small adventure in the previous home of emperors. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll explore the centuries-old hutongs to get a taste of the locals' lifestyle: making dumplings in a local family's home, trying your hand at using a Chinese writing brush, or studying the Peking Opera facial makeup.

For most of December, Adele Adkins had the top-selling album in Australia, followed by Ed Sheeran, and then there was a collection of songs that took everyone by surprise.
Songs of Disappearance is a collection of calls from endangered Australian birds. Last month, it briefly reached No. 3 on the country's top 50 album charts(排行榜)—ahead of Taylor Swift.
Anthony Albrecht, a PhD student at Charles Darwin University, produced the album with Professor Stephen Garnett. “I knew it was a crazy thing to suggest, but Stephen's a little bit crazy like me and he let me do it,” Albrecht said.
Songs of Disappearance was published with a university report which found that 1 in 6 Australian bird species are now threatened. The album records 53 of those species.
“Some sing what you might think of as bird songs, but not all of them,” said Sean Dooley, who represents the conservation organization BirdLife Australia.“Songs from the golden bowerbird sound like a death cry from some sci-fi series. And the love songs from the Christmas Island frigatebird, which has a piece of skin hanging under its mouth that can inflate (膨胀) like a huge red balloon, sound as bizarre as its unusual looks.”
There's also the Christmas Island Imperial-Pigeon. When people hear that pigeon, they might think that it's a human making silly noises, Dooley added.
“The increased awareness can make a difference,” Dooley said.“When we have a community on board, that brings pressure to the government to make them do the right thing. We know that these conservation actions do work.”

Have you ever wondered why certain pop songs just make you feel so good Researchers studying the question found that uncertainty and surprise gave listeners the most pleasure. The study included 80,000 chords(和弦) in 745 pop songs between 1958 and 1991.
Each song was stripped of its melody(旋律) and lyrics(歌词) so that only chords were left and the results couldn't be influenced by other imaginations of the songs that listeners might have had.
They found two things. Listeners got great pleasure from unexpected chords when they knew what would happen. However, they still found it pleasant to hear familiar chords when they did not know what would follow.
Vincent Cheung, the lead researcher, said, “Pleasant songs are likely those which keep a good balance between knowing what is going to happen next and surprising us with something we did not expect. Understanding how music starts our pleasure system in the brain could explain why listening to music might help us feel better when we are feeling blue.”
Cheung told CNN that pleasure in music is connected with expectation. The previous study had looked into the effects of surprise on pleasure, but his team's study also paid attention to the uncertainty of listeners' expectation.
28.What does the underlined word in Paragraph 2 mean
A.Removed. B.Added.
C.Played. D.Recorded.
29.What did the study find
A.Expected music was exciting.
B.Unexpected chords brought pleasure.

30.What can we learn about pleasant songs from Cheung's words
A.They can explain human nature.
B.They can improve our pleasure system.
C.They make some people feel blue.
D.They keep a balance between expectation and surprise.
31.What is the purpose of the text
A.To introduce a scientific study's findings.
B.To show music's importance in our life.
C.To compare different studies on music.
D.To experiment on music.

The endangered pandas in the Qinling Mountains might face a new threat:the loss of their food—bamboo, which makes up 99% of their meals.
Adult pandas spend most of the day eating bamboo and have to take in at least 40 pounds a day to stay healthy. However, a new study published in Nature Climate Change warned that they may soon find their food gone because most of the bamboo in the Qinling Mountains might disappear by the end of the century as a result of the rising temperature worldwide.
A team made up of researchers from Michigan State University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences has studied the effects of climate change on the bamboo in the Qinling Mountains. They have found that bamboo is very sensitive to climate change. “80% to 100% of the bamboo would be gone if the average temperature increases 3.5 degrees worldwide by the end of the century,” said Liu Jianguo, one of the report's authors.
He added, “This is how much the temperature would rise by 2100 even if all countries will keep their promises in The Paris Agreement. But you know what is happening around the world.”
In recent years, China has been trying its best to protect the endangered pandas by setting up more and bigger nature reserves.
“But it is far from being enough and the endangered pandas need cooperation from the rest of the world, because their future is not just in the hands of the Chinese,”said Shirley Martin from WWF but not a member of the team.
There are 345 wild pandas in the Qinling Mountains. That is about 18.5% of the population of China's wild pandas. In addition, about 375 pandas are living in research centers and zoos in China.
32.What can we learn from the first paragraph
A.The Qinling Mountains can provide enough bamboo for the pandas.
B.Pandas in the Qinling Mountains are only threatened by the loss of food.
C.Lots of the bamboo in the Qinling Mountains will probably disappear.
D.Pandas have already eaten 99% of the bamboo in the Qinling Mountains.
33.What does Liu Jianguo mean
A.China needs more help from WWF.
B.It is difficult to control the temperature rise within 3.5 degrees.
C.Bamboo is sensitive to changes in temperature.
D.China is making great efforts to protect the pandas.
34.How many wild pandas are there in China
A.About 345. B.About 408.
C.About 2,272. D.About 1,864.
35.Which can be the best title for the text
A.The Disappearance of Bamboo
B.Necessity to Change Pandas' Food
C.A New Threat Faced by the Pandas
D.Efforts Made to Save Pandas

I have a 6-year-old boy, Sam. He is autistic(患孤独症的). Thus, dining out can be terrible. Though he loves to eat out, he dislikes the loud noise in the restaurant. He has a method of solving it: overpower(压倒) all noise with a much louder noise of his own.
This begins what I think of as fighting tables: neighboring parties raise their voice followed by Sam raising his until the loudest point of the noise is reached, making us quite unpopular with other diners.
Because he would face possible long-time dining alone, I decided to teach my son table manners with his favourite chocolate cake at a new modern cake shop early one Tuesday night.
To my joy, we arrived at an empty cake shop. Everything went well until two women entered. Neatly dressed in a simple way, they were two tables away from us. I felt a sense of bad luck coming.
The women began to chat, paying little attention to us. Sam happily took this as his start of talking loudly and overpowering them. I asked Sam for a quiet voice, but unluckily Sam had left that voice at home. I looked at the neighboring table, knowing we wouldn't be noticed much longer. I planned to ask Sam to eat quickly and leave. Sam, who usually has food unhurriedly, refused to accept the sudden idea of fast dining, and he kept talking endlessly.
“SHUSH!” I said, a little angry. Sam laughed loudly as his reply. “Be quiet!” I could see that the two women were now watching us.
Finally, the older of the two women came over.
It turned out to be a perfect night.

C
根据第三段中的“Listeners got great pleasure from unexpected chords when they knew what would happen.”
根据第四段中的“Pleasant songs are likely those...we did not expect.”

根据文章第四段“He added,‘This is how much...what is happening around the world.’”
根据文章最后一段中的“There are 345 wild pandas in the Qinling Mountains. That is about 18.5% of the population of China's wild pandas.”

it is important to do sth.

One possible version:
Recently our school held an activity called “Green Transport to School”, which calls on students to ride bicycles to school. I have made a survey on our classmates' attitudes towards this activity.
70% of our classmates support it for two reasons. One reason is that riding a bicycle can be energy-saving and is good for our health. The other reason is that cars lead to air pollution and traffic jams. However, others think if the school is far away from home, riding to school is not only unsafe but also a waste of time.
In my opinion, riding to school will be a very good choice if you're not in a hurry and if the weather is fine.
第二节
One possible version:
Finally, the older of the two women came over. Here came the bad luck, I thought. She completely surprised me when she said, “Honey, stop shushing your boy. Clearly, he has something important to say. He can talk as much as he wants to. I want to hear everything he wishes to say.” Smiling, she added, “You have a lovely boy. Relax and enjoy your dinner—and don't let him forget the chocolate cake.” Sam smiled because finally, someone wanted him to do what he did best: make noise and eat the chocolate cake.
It turned out to be a perfect night. I met a wonderful woman who was clearly an angel. Sam found the chocolate cake to be heavenly, too. I will always remember that lovely lady. Her kindness meant the world to an anxious mom. Wherever she is, we're sending her lots of thanks. Her kind words do not cost much. Yet they achieve much.
