Researchers said they have discovered new evidence that Mars once had a large ocean and that ancient Mars had the right conditions to possibly support some form of life.
Today, Mars has a cold, desert climate. Any water is believed to be in the form of ice because of the planet's extremely cold temperatures. But there is a rich amount of evidence suggesting that rivers, lakes and even oceans once existed on Mars. A study suggested that 4.3 billion years ago, Mars likely had an ocean that covered nearly half of Mars' northern hemisphere. Another study estimated that three billion years ago, the climate in much of the planet's northern hemisphere was very similar to present day Earth. At the time, Mars likely had a much thicker atmosphere than today and had an active ocean.
Now, two American researchers have released a set of maps that they say provides new environmental evidence of a large ancient ocean on Mars' lowlying northern hemisphere. The team collected data from satellite images of Mars. Using these maps, the researchers said they were able to piece together evidence of shorelines that sat at the edge of a huge body of water about three and a half billion years ago.
The team said it used software to map the data collected by spacecraft. The research uncovered more than 6,500 kilometers of ridges that are believed to have been formed by flowing water. The team said its research also suggested large levels of sediment, providing further evidence of a large ocean.
Researcher Benjamin Cardenas said the study's findings that prove the possible ocean in that area of Mars was interesting. “It was dynamic. The sea level rose significantly,” he said. “Rocks were being deposited along its basins at a fast rate. There were a lot of changes happening here.”
Cardenas suggested the new study also provides useful information on Mars' ancient climate and developmental history. “Based on these findings, we know there had to have been a period when it was warm enough and the atmosphere was thick enough to support this much liquid water at one time,” he said.
1.How does the author develop the second paragraph

2.What's the new proof for the ocean on Mars

Dancing with your grandma for 15 minutes a week promotes positive feelings and improves her state of mind, a study claims. Doctors from Israel are encouraging younger family members to have a regular visit to their grandmas and have a dance with their grandmas.
And they found a 15 minute boogie (布吉舞) once a week lifted the spirits of the elder family members and helped strengthen the familial bond. In fact, it is called Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) (舞蹈运动疗法). DMT across the generations, complete with eye contact, was found to promote positive feelings and improve spirits for the elderly.
The grandparents reported a bright state of mind, happy memories and uplifted spirits. Dancing has also previously been linked to improved muscle strength, balance and endurance (耐力). For the grandchildren in the study, the weekly boogie changed how they viewed aging and allowed them to come to accept the eventual death of their elderly relatives.
The study, published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology, assessed how dance affected general health of 16 dance movement therapists and their grandmothers. DMT was taken seriously due to the fact that it is easily accessible and does not cost much to practice. The researchers were eager to examine a lowcost method to treat issues commonly faced by an aging population—such as limited mobility and depression. Grandchildren were instructed to make eye contact and encourage playfulness and touch. They were also told to mirror their grandmothers' movements and give them time and space to rest when needed.
The sessions were recorded and then analyzed while diaries and interviews captured the opinions and feelings of the participants. As well as the benefits to the health of the senior, the experiment also changed the idea of the younger family members.
5.What should the young people do when dancing with their grandmas
A.Follow the grandmas' steps.
B.Look at the grandmas' eyes.
C.Move the bodies as much as possible.
D.Talk with the grandmas in a gentle voice.
6.What can we infer from the third paragraph
A.Dancing brings the young happy memories and uplifted spirits.
B.Dancing enables the senior to accept aging and death of their old relatives.
C.Dancing benefited both the senior and the young in the study.
D.Dancing was linked to improved muscle strength and balance in the study.
7.Which of the following is the best advantage of DMT
A.Inexpensive. B.Relaxing. C.Attractive. D.Pleasant.
8.What is the best title for the text

B.Dancing: A Good Way to Keep Active

There is a long tradition in the African nation of Ghana where local artists have been painting posters. __1__ But as the interest in local movie theaters continues to drop, Daniel Anum Jasper has found success selling his posters in other countries.

Joseph Oduro Frimpong is a pop culture expert and professor at Ghana's Ashesi University. __4__ He also owns several of Jasper's paintings. He plans to show his posters at the Center for African Popular Culture when it opens at the university later this year. He said he hopes people will realize the historical importance of the posters.
