Wang Yaping, a world famous Chinese name, is an astronaut, and a “space teacher” as well. Tiangong space station welcomed the first woman astronaut.
When China sent Yang Liwei, the first astronaut, into space in 2003, Wang Yaping’s space dream started. She told herself, “My motherland has a man astronaut now. It will be great if I am the first woman astronaut. How I hope to be an astronaut. I must try my best to make it!”
Wang was already a pilot in the Chinese army at that time. And after having safe flights for 1,600 hours over nine years, Wang became a candidate(候选人)to be an astronaut in 2010. She did the same training as men. “The space environment will not change anything just because you are a woman,” she said. The most difficult is the high-G training. “You can see a red button(按钮) there, and you can press it to stop training if you can’t stand it.” But Wang never used it. “In my heart there is no such a red button. If I press it I will not be a true astronaut.”
Finally, in June 2013 the great day came. She joined the team for the Shenzhou Ⅹ mission(任务). She stayed in space for 15 days, and successfully gave a space class. On October 16, 2021, with the Shenzhou Ⅻ mission she became the first woman astronaut to enter Tiangong space station, and stayed in space for half a year with Zhai Zhigang and Ye Guangfu. The 41-year-old Chinese woman made history, and she gave two more space classes to students on the Earth, so wonderful and fantastic. Catherine Coleman, a retired(退休的)NASA(美国航空航天局)astronaut, sent a greeting to Wang before the Shenzhou Ⅻ trip. Coleman said, “When you look out of the window and see the stars and the Earth, billions of women will be looking out that window with you.”
It was not a short and easy way before Wang Yaping became the first woman to go into the Tiangong space station. It is a good example for all of us. Whatever the difficult is, never give up, and you will get over it at last.

When you travel in Chengdu, never miss the wonderful face-changing at the tea houses. How much do you know about this traditional skill Let’s learn something about it.
Face-changing is an unique skill in Sichuan Opera, one Intangible Cultural Heritage (非物质文化遗产) in Sichuan. It is also a very lively way to show the thoughts and feelings of different characters of the play.
It is widely believed that the skill of face-changing could date back(追溯) to ancient times. To scare(吓唬) away the dangerous animals and protect themselves, the ancient people painted their faces in different colors, making themselves look scary. Later, it developed into a famous art form.
Generally speaking, there are three kinds of skills of face-changing, including wiping (擦) the face, blowing(吹) the face and pulling the face. Besides, breathing is another skill of face-changing, but few people know it.
Before performing the skill of wiping the face, the performer will first spread(涂抹) some special paint(油漆) on the face. Then he could change the color of his face in a second by wiping it. When the actors perform the skill of blowing the face, he blows a small box full of cosmetic powders (化妆粉) which is placed on the stage(舞台). And then the powders are blown to his face, changing the color into another. The skill pulling the face is more difficult. Under the cover of the dancing movements, the actor pulls each piece of the facial makeups(面部妆容) which is tied with a thin thread (线). The performer must do the movements carefully and very quickly. This skill master Peng Denghuai changed 14 masks in 25 seconds. This was his latest Guinness World record.

People read books less often these days. With the invention of TVs, computer games and mobile phones, it seems that reading books is no longer a popular activity. However, I believe that books are an important part of our lives.
Books offer an outstanding wealth (财富) of learning and are at a cheaper price than taking a course. Books can make people cleverer, because heavy readers have greater knowledge (知识) of how things work and who or what people are.
Everything needs reading. Imagine trying to do something as simple as reading the notes (注意) on a medicine bottle (瓶子) without good reading skills. Someone could not understand them and become very sick or even die.
Even something as simple as walking or driving through the city could become very dangerous without enough reading. Sometimes, you must be able to understand what is written and explain the meaning of them.
