Good friends have a lot in common— hobbies, ideas and probably similar tastes in music, clothes and free- time activities. However, the most important part of friendship, according to students at Westminster Community School, is trust. Trust is what it is all above. A real friend is someone who is loyal(忠诚的) and who helps you when things aren't going well.
Anne My good friends are Jane and Ada. I met Ada when I was 5 and I met Jane when I was 13.
Ada I met Rosie when I was playing outside on the day she moved into the house next to mine. I was about to go inside, and then she came out. We started talking and became friends. It was four days after my 12th birthday.
Jane Rosie and I go to school together and almost do everything together. We go to the cinema on the weekend. We talk about everything together. Apart from trust, it's all about love, being able to communicate. If one of us gets into trouble, we all help each other. Tennis isn't Rosie's favorite, so Anne and I often go to the gym together.
Rosie We are like one big happy family. I think we all know the true meaning of friendship. No matter what happens, wherever we go, whatever we do, we' ll always be friends and nothing can come between us.

Mauna Loa is similar to Olympus Mons on Mars. It is 2,500 meters above sea level(海平面). The land is not warm or rich with plants, like the rest of Hawaii.“ This dull environment is as close to Mars as you can find here on Earth”, says Kim Binsted who is in charge of the project.
Six people are cut off from the outside world high on top of Mauna Loa. They are living on a man- made Mars Base. The project is called HI-SEAS. The six members take care of themselves. Many people travel to different places in the world by air. Usually it takes a long time, perhaps half a day, for passengers to stay in the plane. So airlines offer passengers food. But it is common that they feel bad about food taste. Do you agree
To solve this problem, airlines try hard to improve their food. They would like to do so because they don't want to lose customers.
However, according to scientific research, part of the reason why plane food tastes bad is that at high altitude(海拔) we cannot taste things as well as we do on the ground. Also scientists have found that our noses become very dry even before a plane takes off. As the plane moves up, the change in air pressure reduces(降低) one third of the sensibility(感觉) of our taste buds(味蕾). So our taste buds become senseless. The sad fact, however, is that our noses don't know it.
All of these help explain why food on the plane tastes so bad. They also help explain why airlines choose to offer passengers salty and spicy(辛辣的) food. Without doing so, the food would be tasteless.
Now there are many researches on this. According to one of them, some volunteers are asked to lie with their feet higher than their heads for weeks. And scientists write down their feelings about food taste.
Though scientists try their best, it is not as easy as they thought. Because they can't deal with the special environment successfully, such as the change in air pressure, making food taste good is still hard for them.
