I arrived in New York two weeks ago. Now, I’m studying in a language school. I like New York and my school. I have three classes in the morning and two classes in the afternoon. The after-school life is colorful, too. We often take art lessons, play basketball and make model planes. I like making model planes best. Most of my classmates come from Canada and the UK. There aren’t many Russian students in our school, so I have to speak English most of the time. I’m learning a lot. In New York, I’m living with Mr. Taylor’s family. It was three days before Nick’s big trip. He was going to New York City. Nick had never been there and it would be his first train trip. His parents had been saving money all year long. They wanted to take the whole family to visit a new and exciting place.
Nick wanted to keep a trip journal(日志). A journal would help him remember what he did on this trip. He wanted to be able to look back and reminisce the good times in New York. Every Monday, my kids get ready for school with bags full of clothes, shoes, food, and water — but no books.
Then instead of walking them to school, I drive them to a nearby park. This is where they are going to spend the day and have lessons. Right, my boys go to a forest school once a week. It is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There, they explore forests, lakes, and animals with other kids.

Ron Clark is the writer of The Essential 55, a book about teaching students the rules for life. In 2000, he was named Disney's American Teacher of the Year. He helped a lot of students who had a hard time and made a big difference in their lives.
Clark started teaching at a primary school in North Carolina, USA. When he started teaching fifth grade, he faced many challenges. The kids weren't into learning and often played or slept in class. To help them, Clark wrote 55 rules. Soon, the students started to get better in school and in life. They learned to love others and to be the best of themselves.
