Two friends, Peter and Nick, were talking and singing happily when they walked through the forest(森林). Suddenly, a bear appeared(出现). Both were afraid. Peter climbed up a tree fast. Nick tried to climb up the tree and he needed help. But his friend was already(已经) high up on the tree.
Nick was very scared(害怕的) because the bear was big and strong and could easily kill him. He thought hard when the bear came near. He lay very still on the ground and held his breath(呼吸). The bear came close to Nick and sniffed all over his body.
The bear walked away, thinking that Nick was dead. Bears do not attack the dead. Peter then came down from the tree when the bear went away. He asked Nick, “What did the bear tell you ”
