Recently, many people think it’s risky to use credit card numbers online. However, from time to time, we all use passwords and ID numbers on the Internet. We think we are safe, but that may not be true! A new kind of attack is being used by dishonest people to steal IDs and credit card numbers from web surfers. This new kind of attack is called “phishing”.
Phishing sounds the same as the word “fishing”, and it means that a thief is trying to trick people into giving away valuable information. Like real fishermen, phishers use bait (诱饵) in the form of great online deals or services. For example, phishers might use false (虚假的) emails and websites to trick people into revealing (透露) credit card numbers, account (账户) usernames, and passwords. They imitate (模仿) well-known banks, online sellers, and credit card companies. Successful phishers may make as many as 5% of the people believe and give away their personal information.
★ Actually, tricking 5% of the online population is huge. Now more than 4. 6 billion people have access (进入权) to the Internet, and 75% of those Internet users live in the wealthiest countries on Earth. It has been reported that phishers send more than 40 billion false messages each year. Even by tricking only 5% of the people, phishers can make a lot of money. Amy, 18, from California, received an email. A man told Amy that she could get a million dollars in her account as a reward if she sent a thousand dollars to him. Amy did as the man said at once. The “thief” used Amy’s Social Security number to get credit cards in her name and transferred her money.
How can people avoid being cheated online Above all, they have to learn to recognize the email that has been sent by a phisher. Always be careful with any email with urgent (紧急的) requests for personal information. Phishers typically write upsetting or exciting, but false statements in their emails so that people will reply right away. Never give out personal information to phishers. And if an offer sounds too good to be true, it is.
61. Phishing is compared to __________ according to the passage.

C. to move money from one account to another
D. to change from one bus, plane etc. to another
64. Which of the following may not be sent by a phisher

B. Children in the countryside are in need! Click to help!
C. Big surprise! Click to win $100, 000.
D. Chances to Harvard are available and free! Click here!
65. The writer’s writing purpose is to ________.
A. encourage people to use cash B. help people to catch phishers

Back from the beach I found an envelope on the doorstep. It was the fifth envelope with my latest photographs. This time I decided to check with the hotel reception (前台).
At the front desk, a middle-aged man introduced himself, “Hello, Ms. Drew. I am Benson. . . I put the envelopes. . .”
“How can you . . .” I was cut off by the man signaling (示意) to walk with him. We silently arrived at Room No. 14. A fair, curly haired, ten –year- old girl opened the door.
“This is my daughter Agnes . . . She took these photographs.”
She smiled bitterly at me and told me I reminded her of her lost mom.
I replied, “It’s all right honey, if that can make you happy . . . .”
Day-to-day evening walks made the bond (关系, 纽带) warmer and stronger. After a week I left as my work in the city had got over. A tearful Agnes waved goodbye, promising to keep in touch.
Each season Agnes greeted me with long mails about her school life, her vacation with dad and much more. The maternal (母亲般的) bond remained for three years until all my letters were suddenly unanswered. I wondered what the reason could be .
One weekend, I drove down to the beach where I met Agnes. A group of girls were having fun with two elderly ladies who looked like their caretakers. But a little girl who sat all alone caught my attention. She looked familiar but thin, dark.
“Agnes ”
Her tearful blue eyes looked sunken with sadness. One of the caretakers told me that a car accident had killed her dad and this was the first time she reacted to any other person.
Agnes lay on my chest deep asleep as I asked about “orphan adoption (孤儿收养)”. The little angel hugged tightly on my shoulders. The sun finally fully rose out of the vast water expanse to shine brightly over us. . .

A. happen to hear that Agnes lost her dad in an accident
B. lost touch with Agnes and worried about the girl
C. had promised to meet Agnes there after three years
D. Wanted to enjoy a relaxing weekend there
69. What can we NOT infer from the passage
A. The author felt unhappy when she first heard Benson’s explanation.
B. The experience created a very special connection between the author and Agnes.

D. The author’s reappearance might give Agnes much comfort from her dad’s death.
