(2021高一上·惠州月考)阅读理解
"I'm going to fail !"My best friend cried. She and I had
this conversation almost every day while we were in high school.
The truth was that my friend never failed in any subjects. I just
think that she can't accept failures because she lives her life as a
perfectionist (完美主义者). What she
fails to understand is that a lot of good can come from failures.
For example, failure can help build relationships. Once was
cooking dinner for a friend. I was tired, and several dishes I tried to make
turned out bad. I grew more and more upset until my friend told me that I
shouldn't worry. She cared more about our friendship than the dishes. That day,
I learned that failure doesn't always make people dislike you. In fact, after
she said those words to me, I grew closer to her.
Failure can make success ever more exciting. Every few years, there
would be an important test in the PE class at our school. Students had to run a
mile within eight minutes. I was never good at running, so I failed every time
until the third year at school. Then I began working out regularly, and yet I
still failed that year. A few days later, however, the teacher gave me and some
other students another chance to run and I got a pass finally! You can't
imagine how excited I was after that. I felt the memory of the success was as
sweet as honey, because I had to overcome failure to reach it.
Now its clear to see that failure can teach us good lessons. It's
not an end—it can be a beginning.
4.What can we learn about the author's best friend from the first two paragraphs
A.She liked taking tests. B.She was afraid of failures.
C.She often failed in study. D.She knew how to be perfect.
5.What did the author finally get from a failed cooking
A.Bad feelings. B.Worries.
C.A closer friendship. D.More experience.
6.Why did the author feel excited after the running test
A.Because she could work out regularly.
B.Because she received honey as a reward.
C.Because she got another chance to take the test.
D.Because she achieved success after many failures.
7.The author wrote this passage________.
A.to show the negative effects of failures
B.to point out her best friends fear of failures
C.to encourage the readers to face failures bravely
D.to introduce different types of failures
【答案】4.B
5.C
6.D
7.C
I just think that she can't accept failures because she lives her life as a perfectionist.”我只是觉得她无法接受失败因为她过着完美主义者的生活。可知,作者最好的朋友害怕失败,故选B。
5.考查细节理解。根据第三段 中的 "She cared more about our friendship than the dishes. That day, I learned that failure doesn't always make people dislike you. In fact, after she said those words to me, I grew closer to her.”比起盘子,她更在乎我们的友谊。那天,我明白了失败并不总是会让人们讨厌你。事实上,在她对我说了这些话之后,我和她更亲近了。 可知,作者最终从一次失败的烹饪中得到了更亲密的友谊,故选C。
6.考查推理判断。根据倒数第二段中的"I was never good at running, so I failed every time until the third year at school....A few days later, however, the teacher gave me and some other students another chance to run and I got a pass finally! ”我从来不擅长跑步,所以每次都失败,直到三年级......然而,几天后,老师又给了我和其他同学一次跑步的机会,我终于通过了!可知,作者在跑步测试后很兴奋是因为她在多次失败后取得了成功。故选D。
7.考查推理判断。根据最后一段中的"Now its clear to see that failure can teach us good lessons. It's not an end—it can be a beginning.”现在很明显,失败可以给我们很好的教训。这不是结束,它可能是一个开始。可知,作者写这篇文章的目的是鼓励读者勇敢面对失败,故选C。

"Pale Moon rains.
Red Moon blows. White Moon neither rains nor snows." For generations,
people have watched the Moon for signs of changes in the weather. The Moon
does, in fact, affect the Earth's climate and weather patterns in different
ways.
The most obvious
effect the Moon has on the Earth can be seen in the ocean tides. A world
without tides would have very different weather systems. Tides are one factor
that influences the movement of ocean currents, which move warm or cool water
around the Earth. Thus, the water temperature changes. Warm ocean currents
bring warmer and wetter weather, while cold ocean currents bring colder and
drier weather.
The Moon is also
thought to affect polar temperatures and contribute to fluctuations in
the amount of Arctic ice. Tidal forces (潮汐力)
act to break up ice sheets and change ocean heat flows, changing the amount of
ice in the Arctic Ocean. Satellite measurements have shown that the poles are
0.55℃ warmer during a full Moon.
The Moon's influence,
sometimes slight and sometimes strong, has had an important impact on life on
Earth. Some scientists argue that it is the Moon that made life possible in the
first place. The Moon makes the Earth move steadily as it is spinning (自转), helping to give us a steady climate. Without it, the Earth would
lose balance. The Moon is our closest friend, without which the Earth would be
a very lonely place.
8.Why do people watch the Moon according to Paragraph 1
A.To appreciate the moon.
B.To record weather patterns.
C.To prepare for extreme weather.
D.To observe signs of weather changes
9.What impact does the Moon have on the Earth
A.It influences water temperature
B.It makes weather hard to predict
C.It turns the earth colder and drier.
D.It changes the size of ocean currents.
10.What does the underlined word "fluctuations" mean
A.Change. B.Increase. C.Flow. D.Measurement.
11.What is the best title for the passage
A.Changes of Ocean Heat Flows.
B.Patterns of the Earth's Climate.
C.Causes of Changes in Polar Weather.

In the U.S., about 30
million children and teens take part in some forms of organized sports, and
more than 3.5 million injuries happen each year. Almost one-third of all
injuries from childhood are sports-related injuries. More than 775,000
children, aged 14 and younger, are treated in hospital emergency rooms for
sports-related injuries each year.
Obviously, some sports
are more dangerous than others. For example, contact sports such as football
can be expected to result in a higher number of injuries than a noncontact
sport such as swimming. However, all types of sports have a potential
for injury, whether from the collision (冲撞)
with other players or from overuse or misuse of a body part.
Most of the injuries
happen as a result of falls, being struck by an object and collisions during
unorganized or informal sports activities. Some are caused by poor training
practices, or not warming up enough.
There are two kinds of
sports injuries. Acute injuries happen suddenly, such as sprained (扭伤) ankles. Chronic injuries happen after you play a sport or exercise
over a long period of time.
Sports injuries are
first treated with R-I-C-E: Rest, Ice, Compression (pressure on the injury),
and Elevation (raise the injured area above the heart). Doctors will treat more
serious injuries with medications, by limiting movement, or by recommending
operations, physical therapy, and rest.
You
can prevent many kinds of sports injuries by following safe exercise habits.
12.How does the writer show us the seriousness of sports-related injuries in Para 1
A.Through numbers. B.By giving examples
C.Through conversations. D.By comparison and contrast.
13.What does the underlined word "potential" mean
A.effect B.impression C.possibility D.exchange
14.Which of the following is an example of acute injuries in a contact sport
A.Peter sprained his shoulder while swimming.
B.Tom was hit in the head by a ball while playing football.
C.Sam fell onto the road and hurt his knees while jogging alone.
D.Jim has played basketball for many years and now his back often aches.
15.What is the passage mainly about

(2023高一下·泸县开学考)任务型阅读
To keep social
distancing and work at home during the pandemic (流行病)
has led to less time moving around, and more time sitting and looking at
screens. For many office workers, working at home means spending hours sitting
at our desk. 16. . Therefore, exercise experts suggest things must
be changed. Some tips here are to help you move more.
Start small
People trying to start
exercising often get caught up in an "all or nothing" thinking which
means either I do zero or I do two hours. And if I don't get two hours, then it
doesn't count, or it's not good enough. 17. . Going from no activity
at all to even a little bit will indeed get some health effects.
18.
Part of developing a
good exercise habit is to know yourself well. Knowing what's possible and
what's not realistic for you. For instance, if you're not a morning person,
don't plan to exercise in the morning. And if you hate running, don't run just
because someone tells you it's good for you. 19. . Arranging with a
friend to work out will help you avoid struggling to get started.
Walk whenever you can
Sitting less and
walking more will make a big difference. Use your stairs instead of an
elevator. And if you don't have to go out, just walk room to room back and
forth to get those extra steps. If you have a meeting, use the break of that
meeting to walk around. 20.
A.
Make sure to know yourself well
B.
Choose a suitable time for yourself
C.
All these steps will count and be helpful
D.
That's a great place for everybody to walk
E.
But five minutes is believed to be better than none
F.
And it is ruining our health physically and mentally

You can think of possible ways for you to start or stick to

Every time Jim crossed
the street on his way to work, he would see a little girl selling flowers on
the street. She sat by a large green board with the names of the flowers and
their prices on it. Unfortunately, no one paid attention to her, and she rarely
sold anything. Jim wanted to help her, and one day he got his chance. His aunt
would retire, and he thought a bouquet (花束)
would be a great gift.
"Hello, could you
please make me a bouquet of roses " Jim said as he approached the girl.
The girl didn't raise
her head and just stared at the same spot on the ground. "I'm Cassy. Thank
you for buying flowers from me," she said. "Could you please select
the flowers by yourself and give them to me I will tie them together for you.
I can't see. "
"Oh, I'm
sorry," Jim said as he picked the flowers and handed them to her. Within
several seconds, the girl made a lovely bouquet for Jim.
"Here," she
said, holding the bouquet. "That'll be $5."
"Thanks. They're
beautiful," Jim said and walked away after placing the money in the hat
beside Cassy.
The next day, Jim went
to work and he decided to have a quick talk with Cassy on the way. However, he
didn't see Cassy where she used to be that morning. He thought she might be
late and decided to meet her the next day, but she didn't show up for the next
few days in a row (连续地).
Jim was concerned
about Cassy, wondering if something bad had happened to Cassy. Surprisingly, he
finally met Cassy again on the street with her flowers.

Paragraph
2:
Jim

【答案】 Jim was so delighted to see Cassy that he ran to her at once. However, to his shock, Cassy seemed tired and pale. He approached her worriedly. "Cassy, what happened to you Do you still remember me " "The one who bought roses " "Yes, that's me. I'm worried about you. You haven't been here for days." "Well, I am okay," she said. "Mom suffered from an illness, and I had to look after her. She needs surgery (手术), so I have to work harder to earn more money." Jim listened, and tears welled up in his eyes. He told Cassy that he wanted to visit her mother, and Cassy agreed.
Jim then drove to her home, where he met her sick mother, Jade. Jim noticed the poor conditions they were living in and decided to do something to help them. He posted their story online and many people offered help. Thanks to Jim and those kind-hearted people, Cassy's mother underwent surgery and finally recovered. On the day Jade was discharged from hospital, Jim bought a bouquet for her from Cassy. Jim hoped they could live a happy life with love.

D.Effects of the Moon on Global Weather

15.What is the passage mainly about
A.Safe exercise habits. B.Causes of sports injuries.
C.Treatments of sports injuries. D.Injuries caused by doing sports.

G.
You can think of possible ways for you to start or stick to
