When I was six, Dad brought home a dog one day, who was called" Brownie". My brothers and I all loved Brownie and did different things with her. One of us would walk her, another would feed her, and then there were baths, playing catch and many other games. Brownie, in return, loved each and every one of us. One thing that most touched my heart was that she would go to whoever was sick and just be with them. We always felt better when she was around.
One day, as I was getting her food, she chewed up(咬破) one of Dadapos;s shoes, which had to be thrown away in the end. I knew Dad would be mad and I had to let her know what she did was wrong. I looked at her and said," Bad girl." She looked down at the ground and then went and hid. I saw tears in her eyes.
Brownie turned out to be more than just our family pet. She went everywhere with us. People would stop and ask if they could pet her. Of course she'd let anyone pet her. She was just the most lovable dog. There were many times when we'd be out walking and a small child would come over and pull her hair. She never barked (吠) or tried to get away. My color television has given me nothing but a headache. I was able to buy it a little over a year ago because I had my relatives give me money for my birthday instead of clothes that wouldn’t fit. I let a salesclerk fool me into buying a discontinued model. I realized this a day later, when I saw newspaper advertisements for the set at seventy-five dollars less than I had paid. The set worked so beautiful when I first got it home that I would keep it on until stations signed off for the night. Fortunately, I didn’t get any channels showing all-night movies or I would never have gotten to bed.
Then I started developing a problem with the set that involved static(静电) noise. For some reason, when certain shows switched into a commercial, a loud noise would sound for a few seconds. Gradually, this noise began to appear during a show, and to get rid of it, I had to change to another channel and then change it back. Sometimes this technique would not work, and I had to pick up the set and shake it to remove the sound. I actually began to build up my arm muscles(肌肉) shaking my set.
When neither of these methods removed the static noise, I would sit helplessly and wait for the noise to go away. At last I ended up hitting the set with my first, and it stopped working altogether. My trip to the repair shop cost me $62, and the sit is working well now, but I keep expecting more trouble.
12. Why did the author say he was fooled into buying the TV set
He got an older model than he had expected.
He couldn’t return it when it was broken.
He could have bought it at a lower price.
He failed to find any movie shows on it.
13. Which of the following an best replace the phrase “signed off” in paragraph 1

14 How did the author finally get this TV set working again
By shaking and hitting it

By switching channels
By having it repaired
15. How does the author sound when telling the story

YouTube is a website that everyone has heard of. Perhaps most people even use it on a 36. (day) basis, andit's a form of both 37. (entertain) and social media.
But can we use YouTube to help us learn a foreign language

Besides, some English learners don't have the chance 40. (talk) to native speakers in person, so surely YouTube videos can offer an invaluable alternative. As You Tube 41. 第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给其内容和所给的段落开头语续写成两段,使之构成一个完整的短文。
"Mom, you have the attention lifetime of a squirrel," my younger son told me when he was in middle school.
Never mind that he had the attention lifetime of something even less focused, perhaps a field mouse or a hummingbird(蜂鸟). He was right. I just could not do many of the things other responsible adults did.
The other mothers at the private school my children attended were modern and calm, but I always felt one step behind them. Wearing pressed slacks and matching jewelry,these mothers served perfectly and joined in parties for fifty-plus kids at a time.
I, on the other hand, was concerned about whether I had on matching socks or whether my shirt was on right-side-out. I could not sit through meetings lasting longer than fifteen minutes. I could not remember to sign my children's field trip permission forms. I forgot to send ice cream money on Fridays.
I usually misplaced important items-my car keys, my ATM card and so on. Once, my older son wore the same pair of shoes for three years before I realized he had grown up.
It never occurred to me that there might be a reason for this. I just thought it was how I was nervous, as in, I was a little too nervous. And then one day, my daughter, a high school junior, began to struggle strongly in math and chemistry, an issue that was all-too-familiar to me as I had failed high school chemistry. At the time, my parents and teachers had attributed my problems to general teenager laziness. I just needed to try harder, they said. I needed to focus.
My father, a chemist, tried helping my daughter with her homework. She stayed for extra math after school. We hired a private teacher. Nothing seemed to help. Finally, I took her to a psychologist(心理学家)who specialized in learning issues. He completed a full evaluation, and then she and I sat side by side while he explained the results.

Hello, everyone! It’s a great pleasure for me to be here to share my English learning experience with you.
As the saying goes," Interest is the best teacher." So the most important thing I do is to get myself interested in English. As a senior student, I get to know how to study and try my best to build up my vocabulary, which is of great importance in understanding what I read or listen to. Therefore, every day I will spend some time memorizing key words. In addition, I often find some skills whenever I do more practices.
In a word, if you want to improve your English in high school, you should do lots of practices.
Thanks for your listening.
注意:1.所续写短文的词数应为150左右;
2.至少使用5个短文中标有下划线的关键词语;
3.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;
4.续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语。
Paragraph 1:
He told me about the results

Paragraph 2:
Since then,
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
One possible version:
Paragraph 1:
He told me about the results that though my daughter couldn't be good at math and chemistry, she was cleverer than any other girl. The reason why she failed in them was that she wasn't interested in her homework. If I understood her and found a good way to deal with it, she would catch up with others in all high school subjects. Hearing this, I was very pleased,because I was afraid that my children seemed to be like me when I was at school and had no gift for math and chemistry or was always one step behind others. Nowadays, they didn't happen.
Paragraph 2:
Since then, I have spent more time with my children. On the one hand,I want to find what they are interested in; on the other hand, I would like to prove how clever my children are and parents should get together with children, which are helpful to them.
