School was always something I loved because I always enjoyed learning more. I never felt afraid of going to school early in the morning, and I never tried to get out of any work. I stayed after school every chance I got. I did most of the work I could, got the best grades I could, and in the end, I graduated from high school with honors. All my success was because of the teachers I had who helped me, pushed me, and made learning a fun thing to do.
At the beginning of the school year, I had a lot of trouble leaving my mom in the mornings, but Mrs. Trainer always sat with me, talked with me, and helped me feel OK without my mom. She was understanding, kind, and always made the classroom a comfortable place. Mrs. Trainer also sat down and helped me learn; I was, and still am, the worst speller, but she tried her hardest to help me.
The second was my senior high school English teacher, Mr. Stonerock. Mr. Stonerock was able to make English and writing fun, especially when we had eight-page papers to hand in. Some of my favorite high school memories (记忆)were in his classes. Mr. Stonerock also taught my class APA format (格式)which to me is invaluable. I use it every day in my life. He put up with so many shenanigans (恶作剧)from my classmates and me and always did it with as mile.
My point to all of this is that there are amazing and caring teachers out there whether they teach college level classes, high school level classes, or primary level classes. I have had more influential teachers than I can count. I am still in touch with some of my high school teachers, who give me life advice and guide me. Teachers are invaluable resources (资源)and no one can take their place.

Tai chi, a centuries-old Chinese martial art and an internationally popular form of exercise, has been added to the cultural heritage list of the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
As its initial (最初) application was turned down in 2008, for more than 10 years, China has been trying to have Tai chi — also known as taijiquan — recognised officially by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (联合国教科文组织人类非物质文化遗产代表). At the time, judges told China it had applied for too many listings for Tai chi to be considered for a place. China was told to reduce its applications from listings, which included tai chi, Shaolin kung fu, Peking opera and acupuncture (针灸).
According to the Mayo Clinic in the United States, doing Tai chi can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, improve energy and stamina (耐力), strengthen the immune system (免疫)and reduce joint pain. “It is not just a sport to make people fit, but also contains Chinese culture and philosophy,” researcher Yan Shuangjun also told Xinhua News Agency. The application started in 2008 and now we made a victory, which will help this sport to reach more places.
Tai chi has a massive, devoted global following. Millions of elderly Chinese people practise it every day in city parks. Each year, tens of thousands of people from other counties come to China to learn it. Gisele Bundchen, one of the highest-paid models in the world, makes Tai chi into her daily life. Others who have been attracted by its use in their lives include actors Terence Stamp and Paul Adrian, Bollywood star Kunal Kapoor, and musician RZA of the Wu Tang Clan — to say nothing of its importance to martial artists such as Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee and Jet Li.

B.Tai chi is a Chinese martial art with a short time.

D.China thought itself had applied for too many listings.

Kemira Boyd had just jumped in the shower when she heard her stepmother, Tammy Boyd, knocking on the door. Kemira's 12-day-old daughter Ryleigh was choking. Kemira tried everything, but she still couldn't breathe. Kemira knew Ryleigh needed to get to the hospital fast.
They had barely driven out of their neighborhood when a police car appeared behind them. Deputy Will Kimbro figured that the speeding driver was either too distracted to notice him or unconcerned. Kimbro soon found out it was a frightening combination of the two.
Once she'd pulled over, Kemira handed the baby to Kimbro. He put a hand on her little chest. Ryleigh's heart was barely beating. Kimbro radioed for an ambulance. At that time Ryleigh's lips were already blue.
The fact that Kimbro was there was a miracle. He had recently completed a CPR class and knew how to treat a child.
“Although I was shocked, my training kicked in, and I went to work to keep that child alive,” said Kimbro. Then he began tapping Ryleigh's chest, hoping to press her heart back into action. Thanks to the CPR class, Kimbro knew the choking child didn't have a chance if there was a blockage, and he used one finger to clear her airway. That was a magic touch. 20 seconds later, Ryleigh began to cry. “If she's crying like that, she's breathing,” said Kimbro.
But they still had five more minutes until the ambulance would arrive, and Kimbro worried that Ryleigh would choke again. He continued with delicate chest compression and clearing her airway.
After transferring Ryleigh to the ambulance, Kimbro drove away. At the hospital, Ryleigh recovered quickly thanks to a determined police officer who was in the right place at the right time.
12. Why did Kemira stop her car outside her neighborhood
A.She wanted to ask for help. B.She had broken traffic rules
C.She needed to care for the child. D.She planned to talk with Kimbro
13. What was Kimbro like when he dealt with the emergency

A.The CPR class. B.The doctors' help.
C.Kemira's reaction. D.Kimbro's first aid.
15. What may be the best title for the text

C.A clever and brave mother D.A policeman's experience

Dear Chris,
I’d like to share my favorite hobby with you.
When it comes to the subject, it must be running. When I was in junior high school, I often got sick due to lack of exercise. So I picked up running. Although it was painful at the beginning, the encouragement from my parents kept me running. Since then, running has played an important role in my life, without which I wouldn’t have built a strong body.
As the saying goes, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. What about your hobbies I’m looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
大作文
One year later, the businessman decided to meet his old friend on Christmas Day. He was in a good mood, just like the white clouds in the blue sky. He returned to the park with the check and waited for his old friend’s arrival. After a while, his friend appeared. “Thank you so much, I put the check in my safe, but it is just your check that makes me be full of confidence and continue to do my business again, and now I am making money again. I return the check to you,” the businessman said. “Actually, it is your confidence that make you continue to make your business again,” his old friend replied.
He realized it was his newfound confidence that changed his life. Although the businessman put the check in his safe and didn’t use it in his business, it was the check that inspired him to find self-confidence that helped him continue to do his business again and gave him the power to succeed. He told his old friend what he thought about and showed his gratitude to him again. What a meaningful experience it was for the businessman. The fact has proved that there’s always a way out of any trouble as long as we are with much confidence.
