To help students relax，our school organized an outing to the East Lake Park last Sunday.
It was a beautiful sunny day. At 7:30 a.m., we met at our school gate and set off for the park. The scenery
there was amazing. We were free to walk around and enjoy the amazing scenery for a few hours. After lunch，we
played games, singing and dancing happily.
This activity not only offered us a chance to get close to nature, but also brought us closer to each other.

及词汇用法均可接受。
◆ 书写较差以致影响交际的，可将分数降低一个档次。

第五档（13～15 分）

One possible version：
On that Sunday, I paid a visit to Willard’s family. On entering his house, I was surprised to find there was
only a broken bed and a dirty second-hand sofa in it. Willard told me that his parents died a few years ago, leaving
him to live with a sick grandma. When asked why he had given the two quarters, Willard said, “There are people
poorer than me, so I just want to help.” Hearing his words, I couldn’t help bursting into tears. I thought I should
help him break his silence.
The next day, I had a special class for Willard. I shared his story with the whole class and said, “Now, I
should say thank you Willard. You are great because you help the people in need!” After a silence, all the students
clapped, saying “Willard, you are great! Willard, you are great!” They walked slowly to him and hugged him
tightly. I was deeply moved by them. From that day on, a friend relationship was built and Willard’s silence was
broken by a smile on his face.
【主旨大意】
沉默寡言的 Willard 同学，在其他同学都忘记带要捐赠的东西时，Willard 毅然决然捐出了自己的牛
奶钱。作者随后在贫困名单中发现 Willard 赫然在列，所以决定帮助他。

the Christmas holiday, three storms are expected to make problems for holiday travelers. None of the storms
will be strong, but the cold air will make traveling difficult. The first storm will arrive on this weekend.
It will bring rain to the northeast, but warm air in New York City might cause some fog and low
clouds. It will be hard for drivers to see the road clearly. Later in the week, snow will come to the northwest
states, with three inches falling in Saint Paul, Minnesota. And a few days later, just when the New Year’s
celebrations are scheduled, Boston will be covered with free zing rain. The ice will cause problems for
anyone trying to travel on foot, with one inch of ice expected on city roads. New Year’s will be cold in
Chicago, too, with a strong wind blowing water from the river onto anyone hoping to celebrate by the
